About Me

Hey There, I’m Sarah.

Neuroscientist-turned-UX designer. My background in clinical research, testing, + interviewing provides me with heart, humility, diligence, and grit in everything I do. UX allows me to exercise my interests in people and the ways in which they think, decide, + behave, while allowing me to provide practical applications of creative problem-solving. My design process focuses on getting to the bottom of each problem with a balance of empathy and validity. I will never stop thinking like a researcher (even if I wanted to).

Ann Arbor, MI

2009-2013

I completed my undergrad at the University of Michigan, where I fell in love with learning about psychology, how the human brain works, and scientific inquiry. I became heavily involved in a neuroimaging research lab, which has shaped the way I think about and approach problems.

EUGENE + PORTLAND, OR

2013-2018

After college, I moved to Oregon, where I became a coffee/beer snob. I also pursued working in research full-time at the University of Oregon in Eugene and Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) in Portland. Both labs focused on developmental approaches to decision-making.

CHICAGO, IL

2018-Present

Looking to marry my interests between psychology, strategy, and design, I moved back to the midwest and forayed into the field of user experience by attending General Assembly’s UX Design Immersive program in Chicago, where I currently reside (and take full advantage of the city’s hotdog/pizza offerings).
